The Discovery playset has a 1.2m high play deck that is accessed by our popular Rockwall/Ladder combination. There is a green and yellow 2.2m Super Speedy Wave Slide with high side rails for maximum safety. Beneath the Discovery Fort is an area that can be used as a sandbox or ball play area. The picnic table sits to the side of the playcentre and comfortably seats 2 children when they need a bit of time out to relax. The 3 position swing beam has colour coded accessories including 2 belt swings and a trapeze/acrobatic bar.

Choosing Swing Sets for Kids

Choosing swing sets for kids can be a very tricky business. Everyone has different requirements and different ideas. We thought we could help you out a little and offer some swing set related advice.

We have invited a few of our Climbing Frames friends along to help too.

This is Penelope. Penelope just loves to swing. She would swing all day long if she could. As an only child she sometimes gets bored playing on her own so her parents thought it best to get her a climbing frame to keep her amused.

Of course swings were a must-have, we also thought the trapeze bar would add a little variety to Penelope’s playtime. The Meadowvale has 2 swings and a trapeze bar, as well as a slide and a combination rockwall/ladder. This is a great choice for smaller families or smaller yards.

Meet Melanie and Adam. They are brother and sister and have just welcomed a baby brother into the world. Theirs is a growing family and their parents want to buy a climbing frame which can grow with their family.

One of our bigger sets like the Skyfort is ideal for anyone with a growing family. It is big enough for older children to still be able to use it and can be used for years to come by the younger children. It also has plenty of space for several kids to be messing around on at once.

Amber is an extremely lucky girl. She already has one of our swing sets at her house but her grandma and grandpa want to buy one for when she comes to visit. They only have a small yard but would still like to have some great outdoor play equipment.

As they have a small yard and the frame will only be used now and then we would suggest one of our smaller frames like the Andorra. There is still plenty for Amber to have fun with like the slide, swings and chalk board.

We hope we have given you a few tips on choosing swing sets for kids and made th ehwole process that little bit easier.

Meadowvale Playset Weekend Special

The Meadowvale II Climbing Frame is a wonderful playset for younger children or those with smaller backyards and just in time for Christmas. Imagine the excitement when your children wake up to this on Christmas Day!

Manufactured from cedar wood and pre-stained with a factory applied water based redwood colour stain, this playset will be a fantastic addition to any backyard.

The Meadowvale II Climbing Frame features a stylish curved roof to give a standing headroom of 1.37m (54″). The vinyl roof also has an attractive green and yellow colour scheme to cover the play deck. The deck is enclosed by slatted wall rails to the sides and the activity features are to the front.

The play deck is 1.2m (48″) from the ground so is high enough to give a challenging climb up and fun slide down on the 2.2m high rail slide. The deck measures 97.8cm (38.5″) wide from left to right, by 61cm (24″) deep from front to back. Below the play deck there is the sand play area. With the addition of a membrane you can fill the area with sand and use it as a sandpit. The ground beams which act as the surround for this area are 10cm (4″) high. It could alternatively be used as a ball pit.

The 2.2m wave slide on the Meadowvale II playset is high railed to ensure children can get onto the slide easily and safely and that they are retained as they enjoy the ride. The slide features a wave in the middle to give extra excitement, while the bottom of the slide flattens to enable a slower exit to ensure children can place their feet down safely. The slide is also green to look good with the yellow and green colour tarp.

The combination rockwall ladder contains 7 slats to enable younger children to climb the ladder, and 5 high quality climbing rocks to provide older children a more challenging assent up to the treehouse deck. Once on the deck they can come back down the slide and play in the sand pit area.

Deal of the Weekend – Highlander Climbing Frame!

The Highlander climbing frame is one of the premium playgrounds offered by Climbing Frames Australia. With large dimension lumber and 3 different deck heights, this wooden playset will provide even the most active children with hours of entertainment.

The Highlander has easy to climb flat steps from the back and internally to climb from level to level enabling even small children to be able to utilise this big playground. Something that cannot be said for many other premium playsets with 3m slides which have one deck and as many as six steps to get all the way up there but because the Highlander’s lowest deck is only a few steps off the ground children can access and play. There’s then another deck at 1.5m with the slide and rockwall to the front. From the rear of this deck is access up the steps to the third and highest level at the back of the system.

The slide is a 3m (10ft) super speedy wave slide. It has high side rails to ensure children are retained during the length of the ride. There’s also a wave in the slide to provide a fun and exciting ride. The rockwall has a selection of green professional style moulded climbing rocks with different shapes, grips and mounted at different angles to provide a challenging climb for older children. Behind the slide and rockwall is a picnic table that is big enough to seat adults, or comfortably seat 4 children.

The Highlander playground also features a swing beam with two belt swings and a 2-child back to back glider. The belt swings are flexible rubber to ensure that it grips smaller childrens hips which is preferable to the cheap blow moulded seats you find on some sets that are more slippery than your average politician. The glider is made to a good quality with space for 2 children to sit comfortably back to back. The swing pivots at both ends and is mounted from four points above so it appears to glide back and forth rather than swing slide a pendulum. Due to the construction it can also easily be used by one child if they wish also.

This is a great quality set with some really good features and accessories. All the hardware is good quality and everything supplied bagged seperately to ensure it’s easy to find when building. If you have limited depth in your backyard then our Westvale Playset will be the best choice for your family.

With an installed depth of 2.44M and width of 6.25M, this playset would suit those with a wide but narrow backyard.
