Customer Reviews
Grandkids Love it
Spend the time labeling and sorting all of the parts before you start to build. My wife and I used chalk to label the wood parts and put all of the sorted hardware in bags. It took us 12 hours start to finish with afew breaks, it looks great! The grandkids will love it!
Overall a great buy worth every penny,
It was our big project for the summer and it is worth every penny. We have been planning on buying a swingset for 2 years. As previously said parts are not marked, but with some sorting it went pretty well. My father and husband put it together in 2 days over a weekend. I recomend 2 screw guns and extra batteries. We also sealed it to help maintain the color and protect it from the Hot Summers and Cold Winters. I thought the rock wall was going to be a problem for our youngest as it was solid and a little steep, but it is not showing to be a problem. Its now hard making our son come in, he has taken a couple of naps on the top tower. Overall a great buy worth every penny, get some chairs to watch them play and they will wear themselves out.
One of the most sturdiest I've ever seen
I chose this swimg set over the one at a local "retail giant" after reading reviews. This one had more people saying it was sturdy vs. the other one having flimsy reports. I am so very glad I chose the Mayfield. I started off by measuring and labeling every board per instructions.Make sure you look at the board carefully because there are several the same length but will have different hole patterns. Also if they say the board is 5 inches wide it will actually be 4.5 wide. most people in carpentry know this. A 2X4 is not actually a 2"x4" board. This process took me about 2 hours. We split the build into two days asd advised by the Climbing Frames Sales Guy. If you are handy with a tape measure, power drill, ratchet and sockets then you should have no problem putting it togeaher very quickly. After getting it up and staked down I have to say its one of the most sturdiest I've ever seen. I spent about half of the assembly time up inside it moving around and I weigh 225 pounds. I would deffinately recommend this set to anyone. Good Luck!
looks great...is very sturdy
The best way to start this process is grab some tinnies, all the screws/bolts/nuts and assemble/separate them into zyploc bags and label the bags...may take you a few hours - but you have the beer!!!! Each step tells you how much of what you need and which box it is located in...so leave the lumber in the boxes and follow the directions. I put this thing together by myselfin about 12-14 hours over the course of a week. Now its built, it has turned out great...looks great...is very sturdy...and the daughter loves it!!
Kids Love It
Just built this Mayfield set for a client. I did my homework on other sets for client. Instructions are great if you READ EVERYTHING. Lay out hardware, bags are all marked with what's in it, so keep intact. The materials list tells you what you need for each section.Mark the parts on the ends with a red pencil as you pull them, lay them in order, take your time. I took 10 hours being careful with the measurements, hardware type, etc. The clients' kids (and the clients) love it. Remember that the wood dimensions (width and length) are "nominal", a 2x4 is actually 1 1/2 x3 1/2 and so on. All of the the lengths are dead-on.
Great swingset for the price!
We bought this for our 2 boys...ages 12 and 2. After a lot of searching, I found this Mayfield Swingset, the other reviews are accurate...it is a great swingset for the price! You must spend the extra hours to sort all the pieces...we labeled with marker and spread it out in our 2 car garage. It took us several days to get it together but only because of rain delays! We had a birthday party and had about 6 kids playing on it, they had a great time. It is very, very sturdy. But it was worth it to see the kids having a great time on it!
For the price, it is an outstanding product
We have just finished putting this swingset up...it will take time to do it. Two men took approximately 9 hours straight to do it. This is after we spent about 2 hours laying out and labeling the parts a few days before we put it up. Even though it took time, it was easy to install. Check to make sure all of the bolts and screws were there. For the price, it is an outstanding product. We can't keep my 2 1/2 year old daughter off of it!
